BlueDental Choice QF is the individual and family dental plan we write for clients across 30A and the Emerald Coast, and it has something most dental plans don’t: Maximum Rollover. Stay enrolled through year-end and use at least one covered service — even a routine cleaning — and part of your unused benefit carries into next year. Over time that can grow a one-thousand-dollar annual maximum toward two thousand dollars of available benefit, with no fees and no paperwork. Add more than thirty in-network BlueDental Choice dentists across the immediate 30A area, no referrals to see a specialist, and the freedom to use any dentist in or out of network — and it’s a plan built to actually get used, whether you’re covering yourself, your whole family, or just your kids.

How Maximum Rollover grows your dental benefit year after year

Most dental plans reset every January: whatever you didn’t use, you lose. BlueDental Choice works differently. If you’re an active adult member (age nineteen or older) on the last day of the calendar year and you’ve used at least one covered service — a cleaning counts — Florida Combined Life rolls a portion of your unused benefit into the next year. On the individual plan, a one-thousand-dollar annual maximum can accumulate toward two thousand dollars over time. The rollover dollars don’t expire, there are no fees, and it happens automatically — you don’t file anything. One thing worth knowing: rollover applies to BlueDental Choice (PPO) plans, not the prepaid BlueDental Care plan, which is one reason we steer coastal clients to Choice.

Where you’ll use it: BlueDental Choice dentists across 30A and the Emerald Coast

A dental plan is only as good as the dentists near you who take it. A search of the BlueDental Choice network anchored on the Santa Rosa Beach 32459 area returns more than thirty participating dentists across our immediate stretch of coast — Santa Rosa Beach, Miramar Beach, Freeport, and Destin — including general dentists, pediatric specialists, and orthodontists. You can see any dentist you like, but staying in network means richer benefits and lower out-of-pocket cost. Because networks change, confirm a specific office still participates in BlueDental Choice before your first visit — and we’re glad to help you check.

What BlueDental Choice QF covers — and the one waiting period to plan around

Preventive care is the backbone: two exams, two cleanings, and routine X-rays each year, covered at one hundred percent in network with no waiting period. Basic services like fillings and major services like crowns, root canals, and dentures are covered on a coinsurance basis. For adults, basic and major services carry a six-month waiting period — but if you’re switching from an employer plan or a prior individual dental plan, that wait can be waived with proof of prior credible dental coverage, so bring it to us and we’ll submit it. Children’s benefits have no waiting period at all. There are no referrals to see a specialist, and TeleDentistry gives you two virtual consultations a year for after-hours or emergency questions.

Children’s dental insurance: the child-only BlueDental Choice Q plan

Many parents insure their children’s teeth before their own, and Florida Blue makes that easy with a child-only plan. BlueDental Choice Q covers children up to age nineteen, it’s compliant with the Affordable Care Act, and unlike the adult plan it has no waiting period on any service — so a filling or a crown is covered from day one. Preventive care, including exams, cleanings, fluoride, and sealants, is covered at one hundred percent in network. A $50 deductible applies to basic and major services, and your in-network out-of-pocket is capped at $450 for one child or $900 when more than one child is covered. Basic and major services are covered on coinsurance, and medically necessary orthodontics is covered with preauthorization — worth knowing if braces are on the horizon. Kids get the same large PPO network, the same two TeleDentistry visits a year, and no referrals to see a specialist. You can enroll a child on their own Choice Q plan or add them to a family Choice QF plan, and you don’t need a Florida Blue health plan to do either. One tip from us: the American Dental Association recommends a child’s first dental visit after the first tooth appears and no later than age one, so it pays to have coverage in place early.

The extras most dental plans leave out

Three things set BlueDental Choice apart once you’re a member. BlueDental Loyalty rewards you for staying enrolled — starting at just six months, you unlock perks like a dedicated customer-service line and additional cleanings. Oral Health for Overall Health connects your dental and medical care: if you have a qualifying condition such as diabetes or heart disease, or you’re pregnant, you get extra cleanings and periodontal care worth hundreds dollars a year at no additional cost, with no waiting period and without touching your annual maximum. Mayo Clinic researchers found members in a similar medical-and-dental integration program had twenty-five to thirty-six percent lower inpatient medical costs. And because we write Florida Blue on the health side too, clients who carry both a Florida Blue medical plan and BlueDental — and have a qualifying condition — are enrolled in that program automatically. Rounding it out: discounted Byte clear aligners on every plan, and up to a twenty percent discount on braces and cosmetic work through the PPO discount network.

Individual, family, or child-only — let’s find your BlueDental fit

You don’t need a Florida Blue health plan to buy BlueDental — anyone can enroll, and you can add your children to a family plan or cover a child on their own. As a Florida Blue dental agency, we place BlueDental Choice for individuals, families, and the seasonal residents who make up so much of our coast. We’ll quote your exact rate — premiums are set by age — and walk you through rollover, waiting-period waivers, and network fit before getting you enrolled. Call Fuller Insurance at 850-622-5283 and ask for Garrett Fuller, Chris Jayne, or Trista Cordell to get started. Plan benefits are subject to the terms of the issued policy.

Individual Dental Insurance

Yes. If you’re an active adult member (nineteen or older) on the last day of the calendar year and you’ve used at least one covered service that year — a routine cleaning counts — a portion of your unused benefit rolls into the next year. On the individual plan, a one-thousand-dollar annual maximum can build toward two thousand dollars of available benefit over time. Rollover dollars don’t expire and it’s automatic. It applies to BlueDental Choice (PPO) plans, not the prepaid BlueDental Care plan.

A BlueDental Choice network search anchored on the Santa Rosa Beach 32459 area returns more than thirty participating dentists across our immediate coast — Santa Rosa Beach, Miramar Beach, Freeport, and Destin — including general dentists, pediatric specialists, and orthodontists. You can use any dentist, but in-network care means richer benefits and lower cost. Networks change, so confirm a specific office still participates before your first visit.

Preventive care — exams, cleanings, and routine X-rays — has no waiting period and is covered at one hundred percent in network. For adults, basic services like fillings and major services like crowns and root canals have a six-month waiting period, which can be waived with proof of prior credible dental coverage. Children’s benefits have no waiting period.

Yes. BlueDental Choice Q is a child-only plan for children up to age nineteen. It’s Affordable Care Act–compliant, has no waiting period on any service, and covers medically necessary orthodontics with preauthorization. In-network out-of-pocket is capped at $450 for one child or $900 for more than one. You can also add children to a family Choice QF plan instead — and you don’t need a Florida Blue health plan to do either.

No — anyone can enroll in a BlueDental plan on its own. But if you carry both a Florida Blue medical plan and BlueDental and you have a qualifying medical condition, you’re automatically enrolled in the Oral Health for Overall Health program, which adds cleanings and periodontal care at no extra cost.

Two exams and cleanings a year plus routine X-rays (covered in full in network), basic services such as fillings and extractions, and major services such as crowns, root canals, and dentures on a coinsurance basis. You can see any dentist in or out of network, there are no referrals to see a specialist, and you get two TeleDentistry virtual consultations a year.

Monthly premiums are based on age. Rather than a one-size number, we’ll quote your exact rate and the right BlueDental Choice option for your household — call Fuller Insurance at 850-622-5283 and ask for Garrett Fuller, Chris Jayne, or Trista Cordell.
