Health Special Enrollment Period for loss of Medicaid Coverage

By February 21, 2023No Comments

A Health Special Enrollment Period (SEP) for loss of Medicaid coverage is a specific period of time during which you can enroll in a health insurance plan if you have lost your Medicaid coverage. This loss of coverage can occur for various reasons, such as if you have moved out of the state where you were receiving Medicaid, if you no longer meet the eligibility requirements, or if your Medicaid benefits have been terminated for any other reason.

During the SEP, you may be eligible to enroll in a new health insurance plan through the Health Insurance Marketplace, outside of the annual Open Enrollment Period. This special enrollment period typically lasts for 60 days from the date of your loss of Medicaid coverage.

It is important to note that not everyone who loses Medicaid coverage will qualify for a special enrollment period. To determine if you are eligible, you should contact the Fuller Insurance Team – your local Florida Blue Authorized agent. We can help you understand your options and guide you through the enrollment process.
